JUVÉDERM is the latest dermal filler from Allergan, Inc., the same people who created and distribute BOTOX® cosmetic filler. JUVÉDERM is a "next generation" smooth gel, non-animal dermal filler offering a natural look/feel and long-lasting results for up to six months or longer.
JUVÉDERM dermal filler lasts longer because it's the only dermal filler currently available with the highest concentration of hyaluronic acid and a special formulation process. This process creates a smooth gel that flows easily into the skin, creating a smooth, natural look. All other currently approved hyaluronic acid dermal fillers use a gel particle suspension formulation. These gel particles can be visibly seen as opposed to the smoother formulation used in JUVÉDERM.

HOLIDAY ANTIOXIDANT RECIPES
Mulled Antioxidant Pom-Apple Cider
4 cups pomegranate juice
3 cups cider
6 dried pears
6 dried apples
2 to 3 strips orange zest
5 cardamom pods
1 cinnamon stick
1 star anise
*Brandy or rum optional
Put the pomegranate juice and cider in a large non-reactive pot along with the dried fruits, orange zest, and spices. Warm gently over low heat, stirring occasionally, until fragrant, about 30 minutes. Take care not to let the mixture boil. Serve in clear mugs or glasses with spices and dried fruit, and add a splash of your favorite liquor, if desired.
DOVE® Chocolate
Yummy Banana Hot Chocolate
Serves 2-4
2 cups milk
4 oz. DOVE® dark chocolate
(dark chocolate is an antioxidant)
1/4 tsp. Cinnamon
Pinch Nutmeg
One Banana
Place the milk in a heavy-bottomed saucepan and set over medium heat. Just before the milk boils, stir in the chocolate. Whisk until the milk boils. Remove from heat and add the cinnamon and sugar to taste. Peel the banana and either puree, blend, or mash completely. Add the puree to the hot chocolate and mix well with hand-blender or whisk. You can decide if you want it smooth or with lumps. You might choose to use only half of the puree, depending on your taste. Pour into cups. You can add marshmallows if you like. It's also yummy to eat with graham crackers. |

WESTSIDE FOOD BANK
CAN DRIVE |
Our food drive was a triumphant success. We collected over 200 cans for the Westside Food Bank. Our sincere thanks to all who participated.
Shown in this picture are Rosa Velick (left) and Tiara Wilder (right). Both were instrumental in the success of our canned goods collection. Our office was not the only office to collect cans. Goods were donated to our drive from offices throughout the entire East Medical Building of St. John's Hospital.
Tiara was born at Fort Ord Military base in Salinas, CA, but has lived in Los Angeles since age 2. She graduated West Los Angeles and Harbor College in 2005 while still working full time at The Laser Institute. She loves working with people and has always been fascinated by medicine; even reading medical books and articles as a teenager! When not at work, Tiara loves dancing, working out, and singing.
Rosa prepares our charts for every day we are in clinic. Originally from Brazil, Rosa is from a large, loving family that includes 12 siblings! Rosa is in Healthcare because she loves to care for people. Outside of the office, she enjoys riding her bicycle, traveling, walking, and cooking for family and friends.

TOYS FOR TOTS
The mission of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community in which the campaign is conducted.
The primary goal of Toys for Tots is to deliver, through a shiny new toy at Christmas, a message of hope to needy youngsters that will motivate them to grow into responsible, productive, and community leaders.
